-Why Visit Helio?

The concept
Hoards of people visit the newly renovated Marina Square every day of the week to shop, eat and take part in events at the foyer; but only a handful know of the cosy niche that is Helio Café. Situated at the open space in front of Prestige Helio Asia Spa at #03-320, Helio Café is a new breed of dining.

Helio Café is the brainchild of food enthusiast Clement Ronald, who is an interior decorator by profession. His passion for food has led him to set up his own restaurant after being let down by numerous food joints serving up sub-standard and over-priced meals in Singapore. Clement lives to eat and dabbles in various cuisines, and Helio Café is an avenue for him to share his love with others.

The open concept of the café is welcoming with its warm and dark wood toned furniture and floating scented candles adorning some tables. You may even choose the kind of seating you prefer. Be it a low rattan chair to sink into, tall bar stools or a homely styled seating, you can leave your cares at bay and immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings.

Helio Café’s vision is to inculcated and spread a passion for food, to bring out details in food like colour, taste, texture and presentation and create fusion between various cuisines. Everything served at Helio Café is made from scratch and Clement takes pride in his home style cooking. All the ingredients used are fresh and handpicked from all over the world. Furthermore the cooking methods lock in the original flavour of the food and enhance them, so you can be assured your meal tastes authentic.

The Food
Now on to the good part, the fabulous dishes! The cream sauce pasta is served with succulent mushrooms and lightly seasoned dory fillet. The sauce is creamy without being too overpowering, allowing you to eat the generous serving without getting sick of it. The fish is cooked just right so it melts in your mouth and has a lingering saltiness.

Among the many fusion dishes available, the hot favourite is the kueh pie-tee rice. Seasoned meat and rice stuffed into the crispy casing of a well-loved Peranakan delicacy. It is served with a special sauce and the filling has a tangy chewy texture that compliments the crispy outside.

The mushroom soup served at Helio Café is the perfect start to any meal. Unlike most mushroom soups it is not creamy. In fact it is chock full of fresh minced mushrooms and a secret blend of seasoning making it healthy treat.

If you are looking for a light bite, pick from the wide selection of gourmet sandwiches with cheese and meats available or even chicken pie served with brown gravy. There’s even a tempting new creation, the chocolate, banana and strawberry sandwich! Main dishes at Helio Café are between $3-10. Very affordable for the portions and quality customers get.

Teas and Coffee

Helio Café also boasts a collection of over 50 exotic teas from all over the world. Furthermore, the teas also come in special blend infusions that serve to aid slimming, detoxing, stress, and depression to name a few. Just tell the staff how you are feeling and let them recommend you a healing tea to suit your need. However, Clement stresses that the teas are remedies, not cures. Teas cost about $6 to $18 a pot. Just some of the teas available are Kenyan, juniper berry, strawberry, lily and mint. If you like your cup of java better, try out the gourmet coffee blends and espresso shots for just $4-5.

Wines
However, if wine is your thing, you will be spoiled for choice at Helio Café. With a wide collection of wines from Chile, Austria and Australia, you can be sure you are getting the best offerings of some the world’s most popular vineyards. Monkey Puzzle, Waterskoff, Henrich and Loimer are just some of the premium labels available.

Desserts and Chocolates
What better way to end of a meal than with exquisite hotel-standard desserts? It’s more sinful to leave without ordering dessert from Helio Café than it is to eat it. Choose from melt in your mouth cheesecakes topped off with fruit or floral purees, luxuriously rich tiramisu or the chocolate eureka that leaves a smile on the face of all who taste it. Cakes are sold available for $5 to $7. A must try is also the hot chocolate made from molten Belgium dark chocolate for $5.50, well worth the price.

Why Visit Helio?
Helio café is a place of surprises and the unexpected. The owner and staff go beyond their call of duty to make dining absolutely blissful. Customers can also arrange for custom-made meals for a minimum of six persons, (although special arrangements can be made for a romantic dinner for two), and reservations have to made at least two days in advance. There are also tea and wine appreciation classes that are open to public. But seats are limited in this idyllic alcove, so call before going to avoid disappointment.

Look out for seasonal specials and new additions to the ever-changing menu at Helio Café. There's also an Easter special that is just around the corner! Also, when you dine at Helio Café today you get a special 1 for 1 introductory offer on treatments at Prestige Helio Asia Spa! Now , there can be no excuse not to visit a café with this much variety and character is there?

Control Stress in 12 Easy Steps

Control Stress in 12 Easy Steps
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plan your time well
Be more organised. Make a list of all the things you need to do and arrange them in order of importance. Decide how much time you need for each job and then stick to your plan.

Spread out the changes in your life
Give yourself time to adjust from one change to another. For example, avoid getting married, buying a house and changing jobs all at the same time.

Be realistic about what you can do.
Choose your work according to your own ability and interest. Do not hope for the impossible. Set goals for yourself that are achievable so that you don't become frustrated or discouraged.

Make decisions wisely
Get all the relevant information first - don't make major decisions blindly. Consider the good and bad points of each choice. Involve the people who will be affected by the decision in the process.

Learn to like yourself
Don't worry too much about your looks, height, pimples and other faults. Make the best of what you have and learn to accept what you cannot change.

Think positive
Prevent negative feeling from building up. Learn to identify the cause of these feelings and deal constructively with them. Don't blow things out of proportion.

Share your problems
Do not keep all your problems and worries to yourself. Remember you are not alone. Talk to your spouse, friend, supervisor or religious leader. They may have had experience with similar situations and they may be able to suggest a solution to your problem.

Build a happy family
Be kind, loving and polite to your family. Treat them the same way you should treat your friends. They will provide you with love and support in times of need. Set aside some time each day to talk, play or relax together. Make your home a happy place to come back to after a hard day's work.

Make friends
Just as you need a happy family, you also need friends to talk to and laugh with, to visit you and go out with you and to help you in times of need. Treat others the way you would like them to treat you. Respect their views and be patient with their faults. Try giving in to others sometimes - even when you are right.

Keep Healthy
Keep your body healthy by exercising regularly, eating wisely and getting enough sleep. Do not turn to cigarettes or alcohol to relieve your stress. Smoking and drinking do not solve anything and will cause more problems for your health.

Make some time for yourself.
Do something that you really enjoy. It could be a hobby like collecting coins or an exercise activity like jogging. Take a short break when you feel tense or tired. You deserve to have a little fun sometimes.

Learn some Relaxation Techniques
Deep breathing Exercise, meditation, massage and muscle relaxation techniques can be helpful in relieving stress
